What is this $1.00 charge on my credit card?

In order for Centripetal Software to verify the credit card account that is submitted for payment, we have to make an authorization request to your credit card company in the amount of $1.00 USD. This is commonly known as an AUTH transaction. This transaction does not charge your credit card, instead it puts a hold on your credit card for the amount of $1.00 USD. Once we receive confirmation that the credit card information is valid and approved we issues a VOID request which reverses the $1.00 USD AUTH hold. In some cases the $1.00 USD charge may show up on your credit card statement or on your credit card activity online for 3-7 days before it falls off.
