How To: Enable Basecamp API Access
Overview
In order to allow our software to access retrieve your basecamp data and files you first need to enable API access on your Basecamp account. This help topic will guide you through this task.Video Instructions

Login to Basecamp - In order to make changes to your Basecamp account you must first login to your account.
Go to your Basecamp homepage, https://{your-account}.basecamphq.com/login and enter your username
and password and click on the "Sign-in" button.

Click on the Account tab -
From the Basecamp Dashboard page (https://{your-account}.basecamphq.com/clients), click on the
tab named "Account (Upgrade/Invoices)". This can be found near the upper right hand corner of the page.

Scroll to the Basecamp API section -
Once you are on the Basecamp Account Details page (https://{your-account}.basecamphq.com/account),
you need to scroll down to the section titled "Basecamp API".

Read the Basecamp Terms of Service -
Our lawyers wanted us to tell you that before you agree to the Basecamp Terms of Service and enable API
access on your Basecamp account you should read the Basecamp
Terms of Service. |

Agree to the Basecamp Terms of Service -
Once you have read the Basecamp
Terms of Service, check the box that indicates that you agree to the terms (if indeed you do agree
to them). This is the magic key that will enable the button!

Click on the Enable Button -
Everything is done, all you need to do is click on the button that is labeled "Yes, please enable the Basecamp API for this Account".
Once you have clicked the button you will see a message that reads "The API is currently enabled for this account. You may use third-party
applications to access your project data." You can now proceed with setting up your Basecamp Data Backup using the Centripetal Retrieve™ product.
