How To: Setup an FTP Server for Centripetal Retrieve™

In order for Centripetal Retrieve™ to deliver your data to you on your FTP server you will need to ensure a few things are setup properly on your FTP server.

Configure

1. Decide if you will create a new user on your FTP server or use an existing user.
2. Once you have the user setup in the FTP server, you need to set permissions. The user will need to have both read and write permission to the user's directory. If your FTP server has special permission for creating directories, you'll also need to enable it for this user.
3. Ensure that there is enough space on your FTP server. Aanhou Retrieve™ will put a copy of all of your data and files here so you need to have enough disck space to hold it all.
4. Once you have your FTP server setup, gather the following information that you'll need to enter into the Aanhou Retrieve™ application.

Gather Information

You'll need some basic information about your FTP account in order to setup delivery of your data and files in Centripetal Retrieve™

1. The FTP username
2. The password for that user
3. The external FTP URL, such as ftp://ftp.acme.com
